I think the social media has decreased the quality of news. Everyone can post news on the social media. But some of them are not professional. They are not quite familiar with the quality of the news. They just write what they want to write. Sometimes they ignore the responsibility for an editor. The topics they post on the social media refer to the criminal topic, privacy etc. on the traditional media, they provide us very professional news which is true and believable. On the social media, there is so much news. If we read a lot of news which is not good will waste a lot of time but get nothing valuable.and there are so many advertising on social media now. But the one big advantage is that we can hear many different sounds. In some countries, the government control the sounds of the traditional media. But the government cannot control all the social media. So it is a good point in some countries.
I agree with you at a point, but also believe that information on the topic will keep adding up from different people, allowing the person reading them to decide whether or not the information given is true, and the professionals can use the information and release a better view on the topic at hand.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with your opinion. I think it increases the quality because it has a more raw state of the information. Things are not changed or "hyped up".
ReplyDeleteThe source of the message is a big factor to pay attention to. On social media there is lots of news but there is a lot more opinions than facts to prove a point. Reliable sources use social media, you have to be able to understand the context of the message, whether it be opinionated or based of proven facts.
ReplyDeleteI agree and disagree with your comment. I think that there can be false information spaming the internet and you have to find reliable sources. At the same time, those reliable sources that are out their have improved the quality of our news world. It has made it faster and more accessible. It keeps our community connected with one another. It has also made it easier to follow what is going on in other countries. I enjoyed your blog however, and your point of view, but I think social media has improved the quality of our news.
